Somalata, a woman mortician, works with Piyasiri. The people in her town politely distance themselves from her, and so she decides to build a crematorium in the hopes that people will change their perception of her for erecting such a building. Despite being so close to death all the time, she also has strong sexual urges that she is constantly suppressing. The end result of that is the delicate relationship between Somalata, Piyasiri and their friend and architect, Wishwa, remaining tranquil. Somalata’s desire is reflected in the movie’s title; it is a drizzling rain that is gone before it even hits the ground. At times, human fate is cruel.
