Chris was born in London to parents of mixed ethnicity. His mother is Caribbean and South American and his father is Portuguese and Russian. This cocktail of cultures has led to versatile casting, allowing Chris to play roles ranging from Hispanic, Middle Eastern, Asian, Caribbean and African.
